Watch the Morganfield online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from Blues Alchemy: Post-War

So, obviously, Muddy Waters did not go in for chicken-picking of this sort, but in sifting through the most influential artists of the post-war period I was struck by how much of the 1950's repertoire of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf was based not on the shuffle, but on this kind of countrified two-beat feel. Muddy’s “Can't Be Satisfied”, "Rollin’ and Tumblin’", and “Got My Mojo Working” are all solid uptempo examples of this kind of groove.
