Sometimes Stevie Ray Vaughan would start a lick in the upper octave position, and suddenly drop back down to the starting point to finish it. We'll use that technique in this lick, starting in the higher position, but then, finishing the lick using the exact same notes an octave lower. The key is to split the lick right before a note that you can easily slide into from high on the neck.
