Watch the Savoy Stomp online guitar lesson by Corey Congilio from 50 Progressive Blues Licks You MUST Know

This lick jumped right out at me as a great example of Jeff Beck's playing. I love the linear fashion that this lick is in. By that I mean moving up the neck as opposed to across it in a scale fashion.

I got this lick from the tune Savoy on the Guitar Shop album. This lick is in G and shows off Beck's tendency to play the note he's fretted on, then bend to that note. To me, Beck's bending is what makes him such an emotional player. Try this one and you'll see what I mean.

Be sure to bust this lick out on the next uptempo shuffle!
