Watch the Sixth Sense online guitar lesson by Matthieu Brandt from 50 Jump Blues Licks You MUST Know
Sixth intervals are an ideal tool for turnarounds in a jump blues setting. Combine them with the blues scale and you have the best of both worlds. These intervals sit in between single line licks and chords and because of this they have a more open feel. Because these intervallic licks in jump blues are derived from the mixolydian scale, you have to move with the chords. And playing two notes at the same time means that you really have to be on your toes.
