Watch the Left Turn online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from 50 Eclectic Blues Licks You MUST Know

Here is a cool variation on a standard blues that I use on every gig.

It is a basic form but I am adding in a bIII7 chord on bar 6. This can really spice up an evening of blues by adding some variety. It also can lead to some very cool soloing options. A great tune that uses this change is Misdirected Blues by Robben Ford from the Mystic Mile album. His solo on that record is among one of his best in my opinion. I am still working through that one.
