Here is a basic minor jazz blues, these always used to kill me because I had no idea what the heck to play as a rhythm guitar player. I knew the chords but it never sounded cool, or jazzy until I was hipped to these voicings.

The voicings are basically a the Dorian scale of the I minor and IV minor chords harmonized in 4ths. This voicing style is a key element to jazz pianist McCoy Tyner's playing with John Coltrane, to hear it in action pick up Coltrane's A Love Supreme.
