Watch the One Finger Lickin' Good online guitar lesson by Richard Van Bergen from 50 Down Home Blues Licks You MUST Know
Albert King had a very personal style. Especially his bending is interesting. With his tuned down guitar, his bends sound dramatic and vocal-like. It’s hard to imitate his tone and licks. Stevie Ray Vaughan came real close! Because his guitar was stringed upside down he had to pull the strings down instead of pushing them up when bending. Albert used a minor tuning, so had to come up with a different fingering. Lick number 47 is an example of the somewhat unorthodox way he played his licks. We’re in the key of A.
