Let's face it. Blues and jazz are very closely related.

The cool thing about blues playing is that elements of traditional jazz creep in from time to time. A common chord progression is the II-V-I. This is an easy concept so, don't be worried. You already know the I-IV-V progression. If A7 is I, the II is Bm or Bm7 etc. The II-V is often associated with swing or jump blues.

This progression is THE thing many instructors focus on when teaching jazz guitar playing.

The examples I'll be giving you are easy, to start with consider yourself to be dipping a toe into the blues/jazz rhythm pool.
