Watch the Feel Good online guitar lesson by Corey Congilio from 50 Blues Rhythms You MUST Know

We’re in the key of F here and we’re playing a funky James Brown type of groove.

This example is played around an F7, Bb7, and C7. We’re playing two “choruses” which means we’re repeating the 12 bar form twice. In the first 12 bars we’re using my favorite “broken” down 7th chord shapes.

The second chorus uses 9th chords. When we’re playing a JB groove we have to do what the king of funk would want - play that 9th chord!
