Watch the Boogie Woogie online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from 50 Blues Guitar Licks You MUST Know
Is it ZZ Tops “Le Grange” or The Stones “Shake Your Hips?” Actually this great groove comes from Slim Harpo's 1966 hit “Hip Shake”. This is a classic boogie feel that never fails to get an audience going. Much like Billy Gibbons, I start off playing this riff with my pick and fingers, then kick in with just the pick for a bigger more aggressive tone. Remember groove is everything, it is called “Hip Shake” after all!
