Watch the Takin' My Time online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from 30 Sweet Blues Licks You MUST Know

I really have to say how much I've enjoyed making this course, as it's given me an excuse to go back and revisit some of my favorite songs and solos. Joe Walsh is one of my favorites. The song "Walk Away" was one of those kind tunes when I first heard it, to quote Little Richard, "made my big toe standup in my boot," as he said about Jimi Hendrix's guitar playing.

First off, be sure to learn the rhythm guitar part that I show you, as it is very common in many tunes and a great riff that you can use on a chord. The lick itself is pretty cool and tricky, as it uses hybrid picking and has a sort of country tinge to it. If you're not familiar with Joe Walsh's music apart from the Eagles, I suggest just picking up his greatest hits record. Not only is he a great guitar player, he's a great songwriter and I love his singing as well.
