OK, it's a bit overplayed at this point, especially on classic rock radio, but Eric Clapton's solo on Cream's version of "Crossroads" may very well be one of the best solos ever. I know I'm not alone in thinking this. His phrasing and tone are spectacular, and the solo is very difficult to play. It's also a study on mixing major and minor pentatonic scales on a blues. Even if you're not able to play it, it's well worth analyzing.
