Watch the Blues Brush online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from 30 Smokin' Blues-Rock Guitar Licks You MUST Know

"Blues Brush" is something you might hear Jeff Beck, hereon to be referred to as The Master, play. The Master doesn't use a pick, so he'd finger pick this. I do use a pick and I'm assuming you do as well, so take a close look at what I'm doing. The first two notes are an up pic between the B and G strings, followed by a pull off on the G string ending with a down pick on the D string. Rinse and repeat...so the picking becomes a sweeping motion of U-U-D-U-U-D-U-U-D. Once you get the hang of it, it makes perfect sense as to why I suggest you do it. It's very economical. That's why it's called economy picking!
