Watch the Excitement In A Bottle online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from 30 Smokin' Blues-Rock Guitar Licks You MUST Know

This one is deceivingly difficult for what is basically 2 notes repeated, and it's another repeated lick, so add it to the toolbox! What makes the lick tricky is the tempo and sitting into the groove properly. The first note of the phrase always starts on the down beats - 1, 2, 3, and 4. If you keep that in mind when practicing and playing the lick, it makes it easier to feel it properly within the groove.

As say in the video, the trick to the first bend is to keep it in motion until you reach the next fretted note. Keep bending the D note until you're ready to fret the E on the high string. The common pitfall is to bend too quickly or too slowly, neither of which we are looking for. This kind of bend is actually the most common as we look at it as a glissando into our final pitch.
