Watch the Floatin' On Down online guitar lesson by Robbie Laws from 30 Penta Sonic Blues Licks You MUST Know
A minor pentatonic diagonal pattern #1.
This lick is a whole lotta fun, it's a fast ride straight on down to the basement. You'll be covering a full 2 1/2 octave spread. The first 9 notes set the stage and will be used as a repeating phrase.
Starting out on the high E string at the 11th fret, which is the b5th, you'll slide down 1 fret on the high E string to the 10th fret of the high E string. You follow that with a pull-off from the 10th fret to the 8th fret of the high E string. Now insert a pivot at the 10th fret B string up to the high E string back down to the B string. Go back up to the high E string at the 8th fret, then drop down to the B string 10th fret and pull-off to the 8th fret of the B string. Now you just clone that lick to the G and D strings, and then clone it one more time to the A and low E strings.
