Watch the Cool Hand online guitar lesson by Robbie Laws from 30 Penta Sonic Blues Licks You MUST Know
A minor pentatonic box pattern #1.
You're starting out on the D string 7th fret, with your 3rd finger at the root note A. Then move to the G string at the 5th fret with your index finger, then to the 7th fret of the G string using your 3rd finger. Next go to the B string with your index finger, and back down to the G string at the 5th fret using your index finger. Keeping the downward thrust in motion, grab the D string at the 7th fret with your 3rd finger and down to the A string with your 3rd finger on the 7th fret. Now go back to the 5th string of the D string using your index finger and then your 3rd finger at the 7th fret of the D string, hitting the root note A.
Give it the old slide and pull on the A string at the 6th fret with your 3rd finger then sliding down to the 5th fret of the A string, now pull off to the 3rd fret of the A string with your index finger. Tag the root note on the low E string at the 5th fret, and go up to the D string at the 7th fret with your 3rd finger on the root note.
