Watch the Around The Carousel online guitar lesson by Robbie Laws from 30 Penta Sonic Blues Licks You MUST Know
A minor pentatonic box pattern #2.
This lick illustrates some wonderful passing tone choices, the 6th note in the key of A minor (F#) and the b5th note in the key of A minor (Eb). This lick has a jazzy swing blues vibe. Start out with a slide up to the 9th fret of the G string with your 3rd finger and then go up to the 8th fret of the B string using your 2nd finger and a 1/2 step down on the B string to the 7th fret with your index finger. Come back to the G string at the 9th fret with your 3rd finger, and go back up to the B string at the 7th fret with your index finger.
Now run down the G string starting at the 9th fret with your 3rd finger and then go down to the 8th fret using your 2nd finger, continuing to the 7th fret with your index finger. Wrap it up with a minor 3rd to almost a major 3rd bend from your 4th finger and home to the 7th fret on the D string with your index finger and some mojo shake.
