Watch the Solo Variation online guitar lesson by Trey Alexander from Rock Guitar For Beginners
This is a great way to start learning rhythm patterns. Before we start playing with the backing track we should learn to play this example very slow and controlled. This will force us to play with much more accuracy and when we put it to the backing track it will feel very natural to play it in time with the track. This kind of solo is very reminiscent of some of the old Black Sabbath solos. They are very useful patterns and should be moved around in all of the keys. Another thing that is extremely cool about this solo is it uses some of the bass lines of the jam track. Sometimes the most creative and satisfying way to express music is to lock in with the bass player. He is an essential part of the rhythm section and it will really help your timing and soloing ideas to do so. So Rock IT OUT!!
