Watch the Solo Variation online guitar lesson by Trey Alexander from Rock Guitar For Beginners
Again we are going to use our Pentatonic Scale but add some minor notes into it. Look over the scales and licks that we will be using even before we begin to play them with the track. These are all very cool to jam with and we just want to take our time and learn them to the fullest extent. This will also combine some solos and rhythms. When I first started playing the guitar I didn't have a lot of people to jam with or any kind of cool jam box like the TrueFire player has available, so I started learning ways to back myself up. This is a great way to establish good rhythm and technique and will help us to get around the fret board muck quicker. Eventually you want to take all of these examples and learn how to combine them. It is much easier to sound cool with a funky backing track but don't forget to play without it as well. You want both ways to sound polished.
