Watch the Scale Patterns online guitar lesson by Trey Alexander from Rock Guitar For Beginners
One of the most important things that we can do is to learn where all the notes are on the fret board. Let's start by taking a scale and find the same notes in another area of the fret board. This is a great exercise and proves very useful once we start soloing in the next few lessons. You could literally spend an eternity getting better at this but for now let's just take the three scales we have learned and move them around the fret board. Let me play some examples of how this can prove useful. Combining just a few simple patterns make some of the coolest most advanced solo concepts, which of course lead to rocking sounding guitar riffs. You can also use octaves to help learn where everything is located on your fret board. These awesome octaves will help you with so many different things and they sound great as well!
