Just by adding two new notes to our thumpy, low-E bass line, we can create a repeating two-measure figure, or a vamp, to base the rest of the tune around. These new notes only happen while your fingers are doing nothing on top, so the whole thing is actually a little easier than it looks. But if the new bass notes are making your circuits sizzle, just play through the tune without leaving the steady E bass, and add them in later when you're comfortable.
