Watch the Lesson 17 online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from Fingerstyle Blues Handbook 2
For all of the lessons in this course, I'm playing a recent Collings 002H. It's a spruce-top, rosewood-back-and-sides small-body guitar based, I'm told, on a 1929 Martin 00-28. It has a short scale; that is, the distance from the saddle to the nut is a little less than on a dreadnaught-size guitar like a Martin D-18 or D-28. Shorter scale length results in less tension on the strings, and so the guitar feels a little springier, which I like for playing fingerstyle.
