Watch the Connecting Pentatonics Exercise 2 online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Beginner Blues-Rock Soloing

This minor pentatonic scale connecting fingering is not quite as symmetrical as the previous fingering. As a result, this fingering is a little more difficult to remember, yet it's just as useful. As you can see after learning this fingering, we now have two patterns that connect the minor pentatonic scale across the whole fingerboard. Yay! Now you're cooking with gas. You're starting to experience the freedom of knowing your instrument. In many ways the guitar is quite simple, but it's difficult to play. Just as if we look at a piano, visually it is quite easy to understand. I'll go ahead and say that all instruments are difficult.
