Watch the Legato Exercise 4 online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Beginner Blues-Rock Soloing

Set aside an area for practicing. Have everything set up and ready to go immediately. I can tell you from a lot of experience, if I have to pull a guitar out of the case, dig around for my metronome or music stand, etc. that is enough for a reason sometimes for me not to practice. Sounds kind of pathetic, but I have found this to be true more often than not across the board with my musician friends. I look at my practice area as somewhat of a shrine, temple, ashram, or whatever name you would like to give it. Try to keep it as uncluttered as possible. Of course I struggle with that as well! Too much clutter is very distracting. I seem to struggle a lot...
