Watch the Lick Study 6 online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Beginner Blues-Rock Soloing

This lick is an of an extension of the previous one. Here we're going to check out a double stop where we'll bend two notes at once. Double stops can produce the sound of the pedal steel guitar, or something like it. This technique is used quite a bit in country guitar, but of course can be used anywhere.

The first time I heard a double stop used in a similar fashion was from Eric Clapton's solo in "Crossroads". It's funny, many of my students want to learn how to play that solo and I tell them, "Yeah, I want to as well!" It's a pretty tricky solo.
