Watch the More A7 Chords online guitar lesson by Joe Dalton from Acoustic Blues Handbook

Again, we are adding more chords to our vocabulary. As with the E chords, with the open A bass note, we don’t need to play all of the strings to spell the chord and get a full sound. Using just three strings, we are able to keep our dexterity to slide and use our other fingers to add notes. Each of these new notes represents a new melody note. This facilitates chord melody playing. We are able to stretch our melodies to higher notes with these new chords.
