Watch the Walking Bass Pattern online guitar lesson by Joe Dalton from Acoustic Blues Handbook
Here’s an introduction to walking the bass. These patterns are designed to transition from one chord to the next. To move from the E to an A is a fourth. Also, from the F# to the B is a fourth. You can also just use these to add movement, meaning you can play the E pattern as a pattern that repeats, instead of a transitioning pattern. Learn these as individual chords as we did in the previous lessons, then work on the transitions.
