Watch the A Stop Time Solo online guitar lesson by Joe Dalton from Acoustic Blues Handbook
After getting a nice flow, it is a good idea to break up the flow with a stop time solo. During a stop time solo, the constant rhythm stops but the timing stays. So the count continues as the beat of the song does. The chord is played on the first beat, and as the rhythm waits the lead or solo plays. The phrasing is very important. Notice how one phrase answers the previous one.
