Watch the Adding the A#dim and Fills online guitar lesson by Joe Dalton from Acoustic Blues Handbook
Here is yet another addition to our progressions. You can look at the A#dim7 chord as an A7 chord with the root (A) raised a half step. The raised root adds everything we need to change the intensity, so I just repeated the melody that I used on the A7 chord. In the third measure, you find an example of a flashy fill. Until now, we have been talking about fills with few notes and keeping it simple and tasteful. Every so often, it’s acceptable to show some flash. Listen to some Lightning Hopkins.
