Watch the Grease-A online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from 30 Beginner Slide Blues Guitar Licks You MUST Know

Instead of simply transposing the same melodic idea from the I chord to the IV chord, here I build on the initial idea by simply moving up two frets when switching to the IV chord, and used a similar progression of notes and phrasing. Instead of sounding the fifth and flatted seventh, this lick begins with the major third and fifth, but then wraps up the same way as the previous lick by sliding down to the fourth, followed by the third and then the root note. Notice how simple and easy it is to move up just two frets and play essentially the same phrase while yielding a different melodic, but complimentary, sound.
