Watch the Double A online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from 30 Beginner Slide Blues Guitar Licks You MUST Know

One of the many cool things about the open A tuning is that we have a high A root note located on the first string at the fifth fret. After sliding up to that note, it's great to slide back down to the open first string, which sounds the fifth, E, and then proceed with a succession of lower notes till we arrive at another A root note an octave lower. This is the approach demonstrated in this lick, as the lick wraps up with a low A note, sounded with vibrato at the fifth fret of the fourth string.
