Even weirder and starting to get bizarre, reshuffle the notes again - E, C#, G, and Bb is also the 5, b7, b9, and 3rd of Eb7. Totally bizarre and like entering a musical wormhole is the fact that E, C#, G, and Bb is also the 5, b7, b9, and 3rd of Gb7. Ahh! Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.

Yes, this is ACTUALLY how diminished chords work. Crazy. Notice that the diminished chord is made up of 2 guide tones a tritone apart: E/Bb guide tones of C7, and Gb7 and G/Db guide tones of Eb7 and A7. OK, make that three aspirin...
