Watch the Scales & Leading Tones online guitar lesson by John Goldsby from Upright Bass Handbook
Now let's play the etude with scales and leading tones at a slightly faster tempo. We'll play each 12-bar example two times. Remember to precisely shift when you need to move in and out of half and first position. Once you feel comfortable playing the written line, see if you can improvise your own line using scale tones and leading tones. It's also very helpful to write out your own line. There are endless options available to you. Use your ears to decide what sounds good to you!
