Watch the Slow Burn online guitar lesson by Andrew Ford from Blues Bass Survival Guide

Now we have another 12/8 style blues but this time with a 4 bar intro and more traditional 12 bar form and 1-4-5 chord changes. The intro will start on the 5(V) chord then go to the 4 before resolving to the 1 and finally turnaround back to the 5 chord to set up the song's beginning. The standard blues progression used here allows us to use notes from the mixolydian scale as well as chromatic notes to create a melodic blues bass line. Timing and playing melodically because of the slow tempo are very important here.
