Watch the SECTION 2: Bass Studies online guitar lesson by Andrew Ford from Blues Bass Survival Guide
Now it is time to use all the essential concepts we have learned in the previous section and apply them to some real blues grooves. Most of these examples will have two different bass lines over the same style groove. One will be a little more basic but fully functional, the other with more embellishment. One approach is not better than the other, allow the music to tell you when, if, and how much to embellish a bass line. These styles are indicative of how broad the blues is and how your favorite style of music most likely evolved from the blues.
