Watch the Simple Triad Patterns online guitar lesson by Andrew Ford from Blues Bass Survival Guide

Triads are 3 note chords each note an interval of a third apart. For our purposes they will just be the root, 3rd, and 5th of the scale. Triads are the foundation for creating solid blues bass lines. By just using those 3 notes on each chord we can provide a bass line that grooves, is musical, and gives the band a solid foundation to explore. These notes can be played using a variety of rhythms but I will give you a few common patterns.
