Now we are going to dissect “Brad’s Boogie” and see what elements you need to know to write a chart and follow it. I’ll show you the process that I used to write the chart for “B’s B”. We need to start by figuring out what the key is, or what roots are being played and notate them. You’ll learn about rhythmic notation, which differs from actually writing the actual notes to be played but tell you what rhythm to base your bass line around. We’ll see how to use repeat signs and what “D.S.” and Al Coda mean. So here is our final product. We got there!
