Watch the Major Arpeggio online guitar lesson by Stu Hamm from Stu Hamm U: Bass Basics
An Arpeggio is a series of notes that outlines a chord. I’ll demonstrate Major and Minor Triads (3 note chords) so that you will understand them harmonically. When we add the Octave to the triad we can then construct the arpeggio of a Major chord using the Root, Major 3rd, Fifth and Octave. A few exercises will teach your hand to settle into the correct position, which is essential to the way that I teach. Once your hand is in the right position, and you start to memorize basic interval-patterns, it’s merely a matter of pressing down the correct finger! The idea is to get the physical barriers out of the way so that you can just play what you feel and hear.
