Watch the Major Seventh online guitar lesson by Kai Eckhardt from Atomic Bass: Reactive Intervals

Welcome to the major seventh, a daring interval for any song to start with. If you were around in the 80s you may remember a Norwegian pop band by the name of 'A-ha' and their hit song "Take on me" with a cool video where a young lady jumps into a cartoon world to jump into a race car with her cartoon partner. There you have it. The major seventh at the beginning of the chorus. I call this one 'the spider' because of the way fingers move across the neck. Can be very frustrating if you struggle with a lack of patience. But if you put the time in, you will learn one of the hippest drills of the entire series. Since the major seventh is an inversion of a minor second, you can hear a twisted chromatic scale embedded in the exercise.
