Watch the Muchos Gracias online guitar lesson by Andrew Ford from 50 R&B Bass Grooves You MUST Know
Another classic style slap bass line which has elements of Sly's "Thank You For Lettin Me Be Myself" which of course was played by Larry Graham. It is in the key of E, the key of choice for funky slapping on a 4 string bass. The meat of the bass line uses the b7 along with the E on the A string and its octave. I also go to the major 6 hammer on into the b7 for a nice effect. There are actually several hammer ons which are key in this bassline. You must clearly articulate the first note so you can still hear the second note well enough.
