Here's a neat little exercise. Using the same rhythm tracks, I have written a bass line that goes from the lowest note on my bass to the highest (using the roots of the chords we are are playing). This should help familiarize yourself with your neck and give you some ideas on how to use range and motion to create your own walking bass lines. Don't forget to listen to Bernie and don't forget the groove in this little ditty. If you play a 5 or 6 string bass, take this concept and rearrange it for the range of your instrument.
