Watch the Funky Blues online guitar lesson by David Santos from 50 Bass Grooves You MUST Know

This is a funky blues, but it's different from a standard 12 bar blues form. It starts with 8 bars on the one chord, followed by 4 bars on the four chord, followed by two bars on the five chord, two bars on the four chord, and back to two bars on the one chord, followed by a two bar turnaround on the fiveE chord, which leads us into a 16 bar outro vamp on the one chord! The bass line utilizes half step approach tones to three of the chord tones within each dominant 7th chord of the moment, followed by a blues lick using the flatted 7th, 5th and 6th. The line is played high on the bass on the low strings for a muffled woody effect.
