A two bar phrase on a one chord vamp. There are 8th note rests on beats one and three of measure one. The bass line starts on the "and of one" of measure one. It uses the flat 7th (Eb) at the first fret on the D string as a pick up to beat two's tonic (F). The same thing happens on beats three and four. The second measure of the phrase consists of four 8th notes starting on "the one" and ending in a hammer-on/trill from the minor third to the major third. Beats three and four of this measure are rests on the downbeats with low F 8th notes on the upbeats. These upbeat low Fs could be misconstrued as the beginning of the pattern. A very funky displaced rhythm.
