Watch the Ebon Coast online guitar lesson by Andy McKee from Musicarium Songbook
The second tune is "Ebon Coast", written for baritone acoustic guitar. But, I assume that most of you don't have a baritone guitar around for you to play, so here the guitar is in standard tuning, but tuned down a whole step (D to D) so it's possible to get close to how it would sound on a baritone guitar. This tune came from playing around with chords used on a standard guitar and seeing how they interacted with each other, trying to achieve a syncopated feel throughout the song.
The percussive sound you hear in this one is the thumb clicking against the sixth and fifth strings. This allows you to continue playing with the right hand immediately after, plucking down on the fifth string. When playing the melody, be sure to include the percussive hits on the second and fourth beat, which will continue pretty much during the entire song.
