Watch the The Storms Are On The Ocean online guitar lesson by Roberto Dalla Vecchia from Solo Flatpicking Handbook

Our third study is a very beautiful waltz in the key of G called "The Storms Are on the Ocean." What we play here could be your solo if you are planning to sing the song as well. If that’s the case, you may want to use a capo in order to find the best key for you to sing.

This song has a very simple melody, and I think a simple arrangement suits the song best. We'll be using the Carter style technique we talk about in the first section of this course along with some short crosspicking runs. Make sure you're familiar with both techniques before you try to play this arrangement.
