Now that we've worked through the basic elements of the groove, let's start playing them through the chord progression. In the beginning we're using a cliche bass line, walking down from an A open string to a G (played with pinky), to an F (played with thumb) and further down to an E on the E chord. This progression has been used in thousands of songs. The slaps will sometimes contain melody notes. This means that you have to direct your middle finger and/or index finger very precisely towards a certain string.
