Watch the Breakdown 24 - 33 online guitar lesson by Tim Sparks from Roots, Rags & Blues

Alan Lomax recorded Jelly Roll Morton for the Library of Congress in 1938. It's an incredible document, an oral memoir by Morton of his musical life and times. At one point he plays Maple Leaf Rag in the St. Louis style of Joplin and then contrasts it by playing it in his own New Orleans style. I was mindful of that in crafting this guitar version.
