Watch the Add Harmonic Slaps online guitar lesson by Vicki Genfan from Acoustic Rhythm Guitar Cookbook
The two most important things to remember about getting the harmonics to sound clear and bright are 1) touch and 2) location. Touch means finding the right pressure — it's almost like an actual slap, but we're pulling-off it right away. Location refers to hitting the strings right on top of the metal bar or fret. We start with the 12th fret and then up to the 19th fret! We aim to hit the top 3 strings (E,B & G). This study deserves some time spent just playing around with the touch and location of the harmonics. Once you're getting a nice sound, then you can incorporate that into the entire study.
