Watch the Rasgueado Technique 2 online guitar lesson by Tierra Negra from New World Flamenco
Here’s another classic flamenco technique - using Rasgueado strumming to gently tickle the strings and create a dramatic mood.
Try it over an open F# Phrygian chord, and then move to a G7 with open strings. Rest your right thumb on the soundboard to stabilize your hand.
The key to being able to play this Rasgueado variation quickly is to not strike the strings too hard with your fingers. Keep the movement soft and rapid.
