Watch the Weehawken online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from New School Fingerstyle

My first introduction to real fingerstyle guitar was when my high school guitar teacher, Jeffrey Wyman, showed me Davey Graham's "Angie;" my second was when my best friend, guitarist Peter Wallach, learned to play a piece called "Bloozinay" from a book by Richard Saslow called The Art of Ragtime Guitar. "Bloozinay" was three choruses of, um, the blues, in A, featuring single note licks and jazzy chord voicings over a steady or sometimes walking bass. I had to learn it. "Weehawken or Bust" goes out to Peter.
